The experience or journey of the design process is more important as it helps me grow as a person and designer. A balance of critical analytical thinking and strong visual aesthetics together with empathetic and sensitive nature makes me a good designer.
I am passionate about Indian Classical Music, cooking, bringing colours to my work and memes.
Pursing MDes in IITG, where learning is multidisciplinary, has given me exposure and a chance to explore design and get out of my comfort zone, break barriers and push limits.

Raga Mandala

Visual Communication

Abstract

Project “Raga Mandala” is an interdisciplinary project bringing together two modalities of arts into one expression. The project aims to study and prepare a groundwork research of music visualisation to draw analogies and represent the elements of aesthetic and principles in Indian Classical Music (ICM) in a perceivable visual way, forming the crux of this project. It is exploratory in nature, and alike its domain, involves a lot of personal expression, creative freedom and subjectivity, owing to a vast array of interpretation.
The visuals should aim to recreate in the viewer the same effect as created by the music; of elevating the experience level of emotions and energy.
This project is a fundamental milestone and unique work in its own way in the field of music and visual design. The journey of this project was unusual, since all design methods and process failed to narrow down on one problem, identify target users, etc. Thus this project is a personal outlook towards the visualisation of ICM, principles and the formation of raga, its concepts and elements.
The Project is currently under further detailed research and refinement due to which it is imperative that the content, concept and process remain undisclosed for reasons of confidentiality.
