Any software or app has different UI versions of it circulating in the market to cater to the various user testing methods and development stages. Existing papers lack the research in the field of enterprise file management. From desktop study and field study it was seen that the design teams get by without actually solving the problems of efficient indexing, storage and sharing of the design files. The problem is that there is no centralized system to take care of it. The aim is to create a centralized system for complete software component management for designers. Desktop study of the existing software was done. Qualitative approach for research was taken to understand the tools used in the industry and the pros and cons of it. Semi structured telephonic interviews of thirteen users in the design team of various companies was conducted. Insights were derived from the interviews and the target user group, market positioning and functionality expected was determined. It was also found that 92% of the users preferred the component based approach over the file based one. Competitive analysis was conducted and gaps identified. Insights were derived and found that the final intervention needs to be simple yet preserving the functionality required. The next step is to make high fidelity working prototypes and test them with the target user group. Feedback would be gathered and the final prototype would be made.
