Abstract

The onset of Dementia is typically at an elderly age. With the increasing elderly population, the cases of Dementia are predicted to be twice in number by the end of 2030.
The typical features of Dementia include Memory loss, problems in performing activities of daily life, learning difficulties and language difficulties. It needs to be understood that Dementia is not part of normal aging and there is an immense requirement for it to be identified at the onset.
The objective of this study was to focus on the methods of identification of Dementia at the onset and derive the measures that are required to reduce prevalence.
To arrive at the final solution various studies were conducted which included user interviews, expert interviews, observational studies of the patients and brainstorming sessions to further refine the final solution.
The designed solution is at three different levels: Design of a framework which forms the building block, the system design which acts as a skeletal structure and at the surface there is a mobile application which governs the system entities.
End-to-end solution for Dementia was derived which addresses the condition of patients before onset till later stages.
