Toolkits aid designers in the process of designing. Sustainability being a wicked problem is very difficult to target for designers, hence toolkits can come handy in the process. Several sustainability-orienting design or assessment tools exist from various domains like agriculture, architecture and product design. None of these tools are sufficient for the needs of agricultural machinery designers.
This paper takes an existing methodology for sustainability-orienting design of agricultural machinery and creates an intuitive and comprehensive tool for sustainability assessment and design of agricultural machinery.
Therefore, the aim is to design an ideation toolkit for Agricultural Machinery Designers to aid in Sustainability-Oriented Design.
To design the toolkit, firstly the existing toolkits were studied, then user study was done through some workshops conducted with some B.des, M.des and Phd students who were designing agricultural machinery. This study was used to determine the efficacy and sufficiency of the toolkit. While some delight features were decided from the insights of user study, further work was done on making the overall experience delightfull through seamless and intuitive experience from the beginning of the toolkit till the end.
